Flex here. I'm so stoked you've decided to join Future Group Chat. My intention for this space is to provide you with an environment to have the conversations you want to. I've created the framework, guidelines and rules that I feel are conducive to doing so, however, your experience here is highly contingent on your behaviour.
Are you participating? Are you suggesting topics you're interested in talking about? Are you actively listening? Are you creating connections? Are you holding other members accountable?
Do you recognise your agency?
Once you enter the space, feel free to begin cultivating the experience you want. The space is open 24/7 and you don't need our permission to talk. Visit different rooms. Engage people with an open mind. Feel free to make suggestions of ideas that will make the space better for you.
As of November 2021, we have 2 recurring virtual conversation events weekly within the app:
Scheduled Group Think
Made to help you critical think, introspect, discourse and connect with other aliens. Topics range from philosophy to psychology, pop culture to politics, memes to movies and everything in between. Event themes are curated based on the topics suggestions members gave during the application process.
All Scheduled Group Think events start with a single question presented by myself or Juniper, and once that's been answered, we encourage another member to step forward and ask the next question based on a similar theme.
The event is scheduled so all aliens have time to prepare their thoughts and to pop some time aside to chat intentionally (without distractions). After the event finishes, you wont be able to ask any new questions, however you can continue to chat in previous question threads.

Change My Mind
Made to abolish the echo chamber, challenge bias and get people debating! Perfect for those with strong opinions or those who are simply indifferent. If you want your mind changed, or would like to hear informed personal opinions, this is the place to be. It's not for the faint of heart.
